EXPERIENCE

Present: Schreiber Group, Denver
Scientific and engineering software consulting, research and development.

1997 - 2001:
M. E. P. CAD, Inc. and Software Engineering, Inc., Denver
Chief Scientist
Development of a custom CAD system for design of fire sprinkler systems. The critical portion is the hydraulic analysis of arbitrarily complex systems of pipes and fittings, involving solution of large systems of non-linear and discontinuous equations. Developed an original method, much faster, more accurate, and more stable than traditional methods.

1987 - 1995:
Schreiber Instruments, Inc., Denver
Chairman, Chief Scientist
Development of computer aided design and graphics software. Principal product (QuickSurf) was an AutoCAD based terrain modeling system for civil engineering, geology and cartography, using a proprietary algorithm that was orders of magnitude more efficient than leading competitive systems. Spin-off company 4DVision developed 3DStudio plug-ins for 3D modeling, imaging and animation. Sales and support offices in Canada, Europe, Africa, and New Zealand.

1982 - 1986:
Graphics Information, Inc., Denver
Founder, Vice President
Directed all aspects of development of the original geologist's workstation for petroleum exploration. The UNIX based system integrated data bases for well histories, land records, seismic data, and the Jeffersonian survey system; provided automatic map generation from legal descriptions; gridding and contouring; integration of geological and geophysical disciplines; reserve estimation and economic analysis of drilling prospects.

1978 - 1981:
Sigma Design, Inc. (Arris), Englewood, CO
Senior Scientist
Designed and directed the development of a Z80 based computer aided design system for architecture and engineering. Major feature was a high-level user extendable macro language with algebraic syntax, 3D graphics primitives, and interpreted or compiled operation. The system became the first commercially successful micro-processor based engineering workstation. It preceded, and is still preferred over AutoCAD by many architects.

1972 - 1978:
Auto-Trol Technology Corp., Denver
Developed major portions of an early mini-computer interactive graphics system, including the graphics kernel, user language, numerous geometric algorithms for general purpose design and drafting, and many custom industrial applications.

Part-time, irregularly:
University of Colorado
University of Denver
Colorado Women's College
Lecturer in Computer Science

1960 - 1966:
U. S. Army, Musician
